Default How do you clean a cast grey engine?

Mates, just bought this 1989 FXRS H-D Marlboro Man replibike. I have many bikes but this is my 1st with the cast grey motor/block. It's a little cruddy looking. What's best way to clean it up nice?

First off... Awesome bike! One of the coolest movie bikes I ever laid eyes on. I had a Sporty with the grey engine and for the most part I used HD engine brightener to keep it clean. For the small areas where oil seeped through around gaskets or other crud I used a toothbrush and some soapy water (primary, rocker boxes, cylinder bases), maybe a little degreaser now and then.

I suppose Aluminum Wheel Cleaner would do the job but I'd read the instructions and warnings first.
