I am not a fan of fans, specially fans with fan motors attached to fan motor switches that fan the air... I knew a Fanny once, she had a nice fanny, and carried a fanny pack...

The whole deal stinks, from both sides. I don't blame you for this thinking, nor do I blame others for their logic. There really isn't more that can be said.

If "Love Jugs" patented the idea and then "Wards" copied it then doesn't that mean that "Wards" is the one that made the "dick move"?
Just because somebody has a better way to manufacture the idea doesn't give them the right to the idea.
