At this point it's a personal documentary, we have experience with video editing and short films. We've never done a film like this though. We figured it would be the best way to document our trip given our experience with editing and film.
So it's our maiden voyage into the realm of full length documentaries but ya gotta start somewhere....I think haha. If you have experience in that realm of things we are open to any advice we can get

Any chance you can load a actual link that shows your current route?
Lets us zoom in and see locations ....
That is if you want any input on your route, like "highway to the sun" in Montana or Lolo pass, ...
Have you thought about emergency help on your route?
Other boards I have been on have created emergency contact lists.
As for "Anybody wanna tag along......." depends on when you are coming through?
Evan just to say hi and meet you guys (depending on your schedule).
Maybe ride along for a while (depending on work/time off).
Good luck & enjoy, like earlier stated "this will be something you will never forget"...

Not to start off as a negative Nelly, but... if you depart August 1, when do you plan on starting your trek back from Anchorage? Winter starts a lot earlier than you might expect up there. And the temps in that region (not to mention the weather) can be such that long underwear doesn't begin to cut it...
Anyway, I look forward to following your journey!

I see you're looking at Alaska. On a Sporty with a peanut tank. You're going to want to change out that tank for a 4.5 gallon Sporty tank, believe me. Don't pass up fueling opportunities in Alaska. They may be 250+ miles apart. Especially if you ride "The Dalton."

In early/mid Sept I was coming back from my fathers (Southern Utah) through Idaho & Montana. I was looking forward to hot temperatures and ended up wearing my rain gear the last couple days to stay warm.
