shirts can get very expensive... especially at 30-45 dollars each... most poker chips only cost between 1 - 3 dollars each

Never even heard of the "chip" thing. I guess it would be a "self challenge" to collect as many as possible.

OP~ you've got quite the collection going.

And yes, sealing them in resin would preserve them forever.

Nice collection and bar! That really is a great way to display them.

I've collected the chips from every dealership in Ohio and I'll probably pick up more around the country, but I don't really have a good way to display them yet.

I just started collecting Poker Chips a couple of years ago. I also have way too many t-shirts but I will still buy the occasional t-shirt only if I really like the graphics. I will rotate through the shirts by adding the freshly laundered shirts to the bottom of the pile so they do all get worn eventually.

I still pick up a few t-shirts at national monuments and parks while touring. I found many of these places also offer coins or tokens which are fun to collect as well. Just like the poker chips the tokens are a good long term memento of the trips I have taken and places I've been.

Where in Bavaria? I was stationed in Wertheim in the 80s. Also spent a little quality time in Frankfurt and Wurzburg.

This is what I did. As mentioned, just a piece of sheet metal painted black. Poker chips stick to the magnets and the magnets stick to the sheet metal. No glue necessary and the chips are easily moved around if I wanted to reorganize them. I made the Sturgis stencil, I could have trimmed it better but it works good enough for me.

Unlike a shirt, you won't outgrow a chip. My guys at work are mostly local riders, so while out riding or during my work travels I'll stop by a dealership if I see one and buy them a chip or maybe a shot glass if they are unique or on closeout.

They're almost as bad as my own kids it they find out I've been adventuring.
