Depends where I ride. Some parts outside of my cave they ride Harley, some BMW. Buddy and I were at a dealership today and a couple LEO's were checking out a Breakout. I took a CVO for a test ride once and couldn't stand how it cornered. I expressed my opinion along with the thought that perhaps there is a learning curve? Beautiful bike nonetheless. Reckon I would get the ride down soon enough.
Oh, guess I got off topic. Sorry....

I rode cop Harleys for 12 out of my 14 years on motors. The first 2 years was on a KZ1000P.
CHP currently rides HD after a 14 year contract with BMW. Many of those BMW's went 125,000 or more before retirement. CHP had a $2500 rule on the hi-mileage BMW's. Needed more than $2500 in repairs? Stripped and sold.
The Harley's needed a cam change before CHP would accept them in the bid through Oakland HD, I think it was a SE-255.
BTW, a CHP motor was killed chasing a bad guy in South Sacramento a few days ago. I worked with the officers father.

City of Seattle switched from Harley to Honda in the late '60's. Seattle went back to Harley about 10 years ago, and has some Honda's in the mix as well now. I talked to a Seattle motor officer a few months ago who was testing a Honda, but he didn't like them at all. I bought an ex Seattle pan head in '78, the last of the old batch. Still had the foot operated siren, but the guts were removed.
