Still has little over 1 year factory. Slight discount on the extended, but not a throw in.

since it is her bike, I would say yes!

esp to get her off a Sporty, they are HORRIBLE for women!

I would beat them down on the ext warranty price, and even if they don't budge, at least you know you fought for it!

we need pics!

My last bike, a 2008 FLHTC was a rental. It was a great bike. The way Pike Peak Harley handles their rental fleet (at least in 2008) was what made it good. First, the staff at the dealership does a 500 mile break in so that it was properly prepared. Then, when it was rented, they try to rent to just a few people. Mine only had a couple of renters who kept it for several thousand miles. Finally, PPHD tries to retire the bike from rental at under 10,000 miles. Mine had 4,995 when I bought it.

Not been my experience at all. "Highly experienced riders" don't need to thrash a bike.

Ever ridden on the street with professional racers? They don't ride fast on the street. They get paid to ride fast during the week(ends.)
You'll find they would rather cruise the highways/byways rather than race. They do that the other 6 days a week...

For me personally, trust your gut and if it feels right to you, than go for it, if not, than don't. Good luck

I can't say I've ever seen a stock Harley, rental or not, being ridden in any kind of crazy way. If I wanted to race a rental bike, assuming I have this skill in the first place, I would shoot to find a Ducati or some such.

4000 miles with a year of warranty left? If it's a good deal I would not rule out due to being a rental. While there are rental abusers many riders have nothing to prove and just being out on two wheels is its own reward. The dealer would take their pound of flesh if there was obvious damage.

If price and condition are good then why not?

However I any many others tour extensively on Sportsters. Don't understand why some don't think that it can be done.

Last year I did a 6 day 4K mile ride to Vegas and Laughlin. Was comfortable and and did several 700+ mile days. Did the almost 900 miles to Sturgis and the return trip in one day each.

The 1200L was more than good enough for me. I'm 6'3" and 210.

Now you have the inexperienced riders who would baby it, and the experienced riders who might ride fast. Maybe as much as a hundred miles per hour, and we all know Harleys are not made to be ridden fast don't we?
