Just because some one paid for the engine upgrade doesn't make it a CVO.

In 2003 103" CVO engine was manufactured. Previous owner of my 99 FLHTCUI could get engine upgraded to 103". That is exactly what I have in my 13 RK, 103".

Cost of gold leaf sheets is $53 (2001 CVO model), paint instructions for using gold leaf sheets on youtube.

Wow, you need to learn about harley. The CVO 103 in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 are not the same motor as the 103 put in the regular bikes years later, 2010 for the first few models to get it. It has a different crank, bearings and piston and heads.

The link you just provided proves your 99 was not a CVO, like I said first year touring CVO was a 2000 Road glide. 2004 was first year CVO batwing, an electra glide.

When I see the difference in price I always wonder if a CVO is made of pure gold? The extras you get and the price you pay for these gadgets are not in any form of balance, is my opinion. I never ever considered to buy a CVO of what type of HD ever. A few cubic inches more cylinder displacement? Do you really need it or is it 'my ***** is bigger than yours'? A few hp's more? Why? To get more speed tickets? More torque? Why? Do you consider to tow a plow behind your bike? I am always curious WHY people pay such a huge amount extra for such simple extras. Although, that's MY opinion

If I have to tell you, you wouldn't understand.....

Besides, as mentioned already a CVO is much more than just an engine upgrade.
