Default Black engine cleaning and touch up

Hey all,
My Night Train is coming home tomorrow and I have a question? What do is the prefered method for cleaning and getting the black engines looking good?
I did a search and found some answers on some stuff called pig snot and R1OO. Most of the post were over a year ago, so I though to see if there are any updates as to stuff that works good, and stuff that was though to work, as time has gone by, you found what you were using wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

In particular, the places I saw that will need some love are the front of the crank case and between the cylinder fins.

Any help that you can give to enlight one of the "new guys" would be apriciated.

S100 engine brightner. It's the best, I have a Softail Deluxe and people ask me everytime I go to a meet how I keep my engine so clean. You'll ge the best results if you start from the begining doing this. It will never get dirty!

I washed my Ultra last week and used Pig Spit aerosal on the engine blacked out areas and it worked great at bringing out the color and even shining up the chrome bits.

Hope this helps

Pig snot works better in my opinion than s100 as the s100 picks up more dust. Smeone also wrote that they used Plege furniture polish for this but I found it did not work very well for the engine.

Pledge works perfect on my engine, Anubisss. I use the stuff on every single thing on the bike. It's great.

Laundry soap and a nylon brush. Old tooth brushes are great for in the fins.
