Default Leather Fringes/Tassels serious question :)

Ok Guys,

This is not about how silly or cool they look , just a practical question, if I want to put Fringes on the end of my grips (or levers), what will be the best length to go to without slapping myself or my passenger silly on the highway .. or what are the best speeds wind conditions etc.. or would they have any effect ?

A novice question, but you guys are always very kind to us newbs into cruiser world and I appreciate that

Regards

A.K.

Well, I don't have tassles/fringe hanging from my grips, but I'd think that anything longer than an inch or so would blow around and smack your hands and wrists to the point that it would be pretty annoying.

I'm all for fringe on a bike,..or on a womans chaps/vest,......don't think it looks right on a mans person,.....anyhow,...I got 6" fringe on my levers,....doesn't bother a thing. I may eventually put 'em on the seat and bags too.

I don't worry too much bout what others think,..so if you wanna go out looking like buckskin bill, or Davey Crockett,......i'd say go for it.

Simple solution. Get the longest ones you can find, ride with them and then cut them to the length you want. Problem solved

Don't have them but tons of folks like them and have them. Seems that if there were anyproblems when riding there wouldn't be as many out there. Great idea on getting long and cutting down.

so we got a nod for 6" .. anybody got longer ?
Thank you man, very helpful, I did have to Google Buckskin Bill and Davey Crockett, sorry I am a Canadian Immigrant , but I must say.. Davey Crocket is very impressive, I did work in San Antonio for a few weeks, my absolute most favourite US destination, and saw the Alamo, as an Egyptian, I have a very strong realtion to history, I was very moved by reading the bio of this guy.

now back to fringes... who else has them and how do they feel about them at speed ? ...

Thats what I want to hear ,

Thats ok.. I don't mind being called Old, Different, (which both I am), or Gay (which I am not ).

I came from lands of 'decrees' and I don't care much for them but you guys are funny hahahahaha

I gotta say though guys, you make riding my bike a whole lot interesting.. now I understand a bit what people say about Harley Riders.

Regards
