DEUCE GETS THE AXE!
So with all the hysteria over the new Rocker, Anniversary bikes and all the changes for '08 I didn't even notice that the Deuce gotaxed for '08. Kind of surprising to me. I always liked the Deuce personally. I knew that the Softail Springer, and Softail Standard were eliminated and also the Dyna Wideglide...is there anything else I missed?

So with Harleys drive to offer a new and exciting motorcycle lineup, they have to drop certain models.
Thats how they will think uo something new for new year, The duece will be a new addition for the 09 lineup.
Does this look familiar? Well hush your mouth its the brand new Duece!
Innovative yes?

I really liked the Duece, test drove one when I was looking at trading.
It didn't have that ultimately cool look like the Softail Custom and it didn't have that big bad look of the fatboy - but it rode great and had clean sleek lines with well placed chrome.
In the end I opted for the SG because I wanted long distance travel.
WereI looking for an all around bike for local riding that I could keep until I'm too old to ride though - that may have been the one for me..
To me, the Deuce had an understated elegance that wasn't novelty or radical..just sleek, clean HD with the right engine and a lot of chrome...I also like the streamline seat..
Too bad they're discontinuing, but I'm saving up over time so maybe on day I can buy one used in a few years..

The Duece will be back. If you guys will recall, the Softail Custom was a hot item a few years back, then it was "Discontinued", only to be back in 08. Its all part of the MoCo's grand scheme.
