Can I beat my buddys bike?

Can I beat my buddys bike?
Despite my advice my buddy went and bought himself a crotch rocket instead of a Harley. His money, his choice though. Now he's talking smack about how easily he can beat me in an acceleration contest. Is that true? His bike is only 600cc and my Fatboy is 1580cc, and the torque difference is huge! He has something like 40 lb-ft at the wheel (that is really pathetic, haha).
Maybe some of you read my engine build thread. I will do atleast stage one soon, but it would feel really good to beat him with a stock bike. Then maybe it will be easier to convince him to buy a Harley instead, hehe.
The "race" will be from 40mph to 100mph through the gears. First to hit 100mph hit the brakes.
What do you think? Will I beat him?
This is the bike in question:

A good way to beat him is to wait a few years, both of you's stand on the corner with for sale signs and see who gets more and/or depreciates less.

But my torque to weight ratio is still a fair amount over his, and since this is mainly an acceleration contest, don't you think I would have him at least up to 80mph or something (if we start from 40mph)?

Not that way. Start from a standstill. I bet you have better torque and skill for the lower end, 0-75.
