Default GMAC MC Insurance

OK, I received my first issue of American Rider yesterday and there was a cover on it touting MC insurance from GMAC. It had a savings code for subscribers and I thought I might as well check them out and get a quote since mine expires in about a month.

First, the agent on the phone did not know what an Electra Glide was and could not find FLHTCI on her list. I asked her how they could call themselves a motorcycle insurer, advertising with American Rider and not insure Electra Glides (let alone my Springer)? She put me on hold for several minutes, then came back on the line and told me that they were not writing either of those models.

WTF?????

That's strange. We have GMAC for our motorcycle insurance and didn't have any problems getting any of our bikes covered, one of which is an ElectraGlide. We use an independent agent when it comes to making changes to our policy, instead of dealing directly with GMAC, but I wouldn't think that would make that much ofa difference.

I called GEICO and got a quote with higher limits for almost half the price of my Progressive policy. Done deal.

My fuel injected ElectraGlide Classic is insured by GMAC. I wonder if the State makes a difference. For instance, Geico does not insure motorcycles in Michigan. Got a good rate from GMAC, though.

I've hadRider Insurance (GMAC) on the last three H-Ds, and the rates and service have been excellent! About $30.00 a month for full coverage on the '07 Ultra with additional $1500.00 accessories coverage at no extra charge.

I have GMAC(riders).Delt with the co. after finding the ad in the same magazine. They had the best rates I find at the time and knew what a Road Gide is.
Maybe you need to give them the model letters instead of the name?
