Does anyone have any opinion on the s&s 111? I'm just gettin ready to buy a new motor for my evo road king and saw that they have a pretty good sale goin on these motors right now. I'm just not familiar with the 111. Thanks for any info from anybody that would know about these.

 

I've got a 111 S&S in my American IronHorse. I was curious how it would perform compared to the 88 engine in my Harley. The difference was quite noticeable --- the 111 is much more powerful. I think it was rated at 110 HP. I don't know if that's legitimate or not but I do know that it is more powerful through the entire RPM range compared to the 88. It does burn a little more gas but that is to be expected.

 

thanks for the response slammer! i was just about to buy an ultima, when i saw the sale s&s had on the 111's. it looks like a heck of a deal, but i just wanted to hear about any that people actually had. thanks for the info!

 

excellent motor, square motor, best ones are that, bore and stroke are the same, this makes for a very smooth, and powerful combination, without getting all technical

 

Uhh....I'd say "good engine".....Bro/law had a 111" S&S SuperSidewinder w/SuperG carb/SuperStock heads in his IronHorse Outlaw......scary fast compared to Harley....pull'd like a train thru all 6 gears......eat an SE 110 for a snack and ask for seconds.........there's some pics of him on the Dragon w/this bike someplace(Kilroy,I think)

 

A buddy of mine has one and it's pretty damn fast.
