Okay, I got to ask the question since I'm almost 59. Since when did "white walls" get associated with a "gangsta" look? Gang bangers arrived on the scene a buttload later after white wallson bikes.

I realize I may be missing your point here. Avon Gangster whitewalls are simply a wider whitewall than Dunlops, etc. so Avon named them that. It harkens back to the day when a lot of big cars which gangsters preferredsuch as Packards and Lincolnshad very wide whites.
Fwiw, they are very easy to clean. I've been using Westley's Bleche Wite (correct spelling I believe) for decades. Wet the tire, spray on the cleaner, wait a couple of minutes and give a quick brushing. They sparkle. I noticed that WalMart now carries that cleaner, last I looked.
$5 will last a couple of years.
PS It works great on blackwalls too and leaves no greasy film.
There must be hundred's of posts in the history of the forum saying that white walls are too hard to keep clean. Yes, they take me an extra 15 minutes a month to clean them but the pay-back is pretty high. I get a lot of compliments on them.
You did say re-cycle, right. lol
My grandsons all like the wide white walls
