Default Harley's 0-60 Time

Okay, I read thru all 5 pages of why are Harley's so SLOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW and mentioned my 08UC Stage 1 could 0-60 in about 5. This months Cycle World clocks the Rockster at 4.9 Stock and I see some guy, Fred, no offense, mention a Harley can't do 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Not doing asize thing but just curious and proud to own a Harley.

What's your time 0-60? Aprox. if you can only guess? I'm sure if you wanted to gas it 0-60 in 2nd on your bagger could do it in about 6 secs. I'm guessing.

Mine will flat haul pulling hard 0-60 and I got a 88 on a Heritage with Stage 1. Can I get to 60 in 5 seconds? I havent timed it but if I can't I would be shocked. A lot of times though I normally pull a burn out for a few bike lengths at the start though. I have a heavy hand ehehe. Yes I can out run a Mini Van [sm=biker2.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif]

Let the show begin I got my popcorn. [sm=popcorn.gif][sm=popcorn.gif][sm=icon_guiness.gif]

I have never timed it either, but I am sure I can easily do a less than 5 second 0-60 on my Sportster. The key is the take off, just rev it up to 2k rmp then drop the clutch!

I bet your the guy that keeps those tire companies in business with clouds of blue smoke. I love seeing people do burn outs but I try not to do them. Periodically my hand just twist to far and I just cant stop once the blue cloud starts. Rallies mainly or in my driveway if my back tire slips or at stop signs if there is grease on the pavement or at stop lights if a rocket acts up andmy wrist hurts or hell any time I feel like it.Pisses me off not having control of my body at times. There went a few thousand miles of tread for a few seconds of heavy handed fun. I am very sure you can do it Kolni on your 1200 Sportster. I have no doubt honestly. 1200 Sportsters are by no means Grandpas scoot normally. Too much fun could give Grandpa a Heart attack so they normally drive cruisers and touring bikes for health reasons. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

First time I've seen a stock Harley do 0-60mph (or rather 0-100km/h) under 5 sec. You learn something new every day.

My point in the other post is still valid though.

I've never ran the clock but I've read enough about stock Sportsters that have and claim the 1200 will break 5 seconds.

Always have to laugh at the boys worried about how fast their Harleys are or are not. After you have riden one for a while you decide,do I want a real fast one or a stocker.Personally I like very quick Harleys and it is much less expensive to build one yourself.Even then you should care less about how fast it is,other than to impress yourself.

Who cares? Harley's are not really fast bikes. They have a different experience. The Jap bikes do fast really well, Harley does being relaxed really well. There's no harm or shame in any of it. Noname
