http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/558748461.html I know this bike personally, this is the deal of the century. Frank and his brother in law built this thing over a period of 8+ yrs. It is immaculate AND rocks down the road.

http://www.cycletrader.com/find/list...T-BOB-89427215 This should be the mate to the chop, but me and FX's have never gotten along.
There you go, something to compare to, just like buying a house, only WAY more fun to shop and compare.
Is it an FLH with the wide glide and 21" or is it an FX wide glide? Has the FLH speedo vs FX. Rear shocks look FLH, but they could have just put the dome covers on. Never mind, All that is mute, I guess. Just looked closer, it has FLH primary cause it has floorboards on it. So, I'm guessing it is an FLH that someone stripped the tins off the wide glide and added a 21" front. Looks like it could have a Sumax rear fender, but the "flip" at the bottom doesn't look Sumax. All that would only matter if you were trying to buy an "original" bike. Sounds like you are just looking for a "decent" Harley to "ride like you stole" (Joke onanother thread) Beings how you are "just" getting into HD, try to find someone who you can trust, who knows shovels, and have them take a look at it for you. By the looks of the yard and neighborhood, you are no where close to me. My yard is WHITE and frozen. Good luck, PM if you hae any specific questions about it. GUMBY

Not sure on your question, but it looks like a decent bike. Those freakin apes are a bit high for my taste, but easily replaced.

DUH, sorry. Forgot one of your ?'s. Top end - Cylinders either bored or replaced. Pistons and rings. Valves ground or replaced. Guides, seals. Rocker shaft bushings. Basically everything from the cases upwards, thus "topend" FYI Bottom end - cases, and the rotating assembly, flywheels, crank, con rods, bearings.

Neat bike though price is what you make of it when it comes to the older bikes now since harley flooded the market for a few years now and people drove down the values by treating my beloved bikes like their used cars. You can pick up a couple year old dyna for not much more than 7500 ust a thought but shovels do seem to me to have the best sound and run like hell with Nitrous, dual plugs and ground down piston for a 1/4 mile.

With todays market being flooded with low mile newer bikes I'd go 5-6k on that shovel.

hanks Damir! It's a 2007 FLHTCUI, or an Ulta for short.
Nothing wrong with an old Shovel. But for a first Harley I would suggest you look for a newer one. In the 8k range you opions are pretty wide.
