Right now the best rate is 7.99% according to the HD website. I bought my 2007 right before the 2008s were released and got 4.99% -- that was in July. Don't know if HD drops their rates every year at around that time or if I just got lucky.

 

I've heard it can also be dealer specific but I got 6.75% for 60 months through HD Credit with my dealer. I think84 months was 7.75% with them.

 

A friend of mine bought a Nightster (R) in November and financed through HD. He has excellent credit and got something like a 7% rate. I would definitely get a second opinion from a bank or credit union. I bought a RK in 2004 and got a 3.1% rate from my credit union, but, oh, how times have changed since then!

 

6.9 with our credit union.

 

My credit rating was near 800 and the HD offered me 10.99%. I laughed and told them the deal was off, we eventually settled on 7%. I took the bike home, rode it for a month and then wrote a check to pay the whole thing off. They pay a set amount and anything over they get to keep. Pays to haggle and insist on some things. Basically I should have gotten the 4.99% but my dealer would go that far. fun to let them think they are getting something for free and then pay them off.

 

6.5% at the Community Alliance credit union here in Michigan. I got 1.05% for 4 years on my Heritage thru the HD promotion.

 

5.7 with my credit union. HD came back at 9.75% (and I have stellar credit!) because "your term was shorter, so we won't make as much with a lower rate". I told them I wanted 48 months vs 84....
