Default buzzing brakes

I'm riding a 2006 Road King. When I apply the front brakes I hear a sort of buzzing noise. It does this maybe 75% of the time. The brakes seem to work fine, I just get this buzz. Any thoughts??

If you have little holes in you disc (by design) you will get a buzzing noise as the pad runs over them.

+1 on the brake pads going over the holes in a vented disc. I've found out that prior to installing new pads, bevel the sharp edges a little and the buzzing usually isn't there, worked for me. I put new pads on last June, seated them, had a little buzzing first couple of days then went away.

Thanks for the info. I figured it was going to be something expensive to fix. As usual, you guys were a tremendous help.

I think what you hear is the floating disc. The two piece disc allows for a little misalignment without feeling the pulsating effect of an out of round rotor. Normal.

Mine sound like a cicada in the summer. I figured was normal, and got used to it on my Fat Bob.

Cicada - yeah, that's the sound. Same thing on my 2004 Road King.

Stops fine, front end just sounds like a cicada!

Front brake buzzing, all bikes that I have owned for the last 22 years (started with my 1987 Honda VFR 750) have done this.

Loud pipes may help alleviate the brake noise issue
