Quick way to cool off the bike...
Riding a bunch of low-speed circles in a parking lot with the clutch slipping and rear brake applied tends to heat a motor up. Any quick way (short of spraying with water, which would probably do more harm than good.) to cool a HD motor down?
I don't know how hot my motor got, but it was enough to where the PCM wasn't keeping the idle up (it dropped down to around 750). Also, I shut it off at a stop light to let it cool some and it almost didn't start back up again.
In case your wondering, this is on a `04 FLHP/I.

Ride a large cool down lap, 3rd gear 30 mph. This will blow the hot air off the engine and the drop the engine temps down.

Yep, airflow is the best way to cool down and to get air flowing you got to kick up the speed a bit.

Additionally, if you spend a lot of time at slow speeds and in hot weather, you may want to consider an oil cooler.

I've been riding for about 5 years. I haven't taken a MSF course, yet. I do it to get used to a new bike. Going from a 500lb Honda to the Road King (I've heard everywhere from 800-1000lbs) takes a bit of getting used to.
My friend does it because he's only been riding for about a year. He does it to build up his skills. I guess I do it for the same reason, too.
Beats sitting at home watching TV... at least I am on the bike!
