It's like going into a casino and throwing 1K on the craps table. Sometimes the dealer wins and sometimes you win. I'm old and retired and doubt I'll buy another bike so 3 or 4 years from now if the engine or tranny blows it could save me major bucks. Is it worth it? For me, yes.

Cool

depends on how much you ride. had it on my 00 egc and after a spun clutch hub bearing, speed o and motormounts and exhuast crack it paid for itself. my 07 ultra is in now due to the radio got drenched from a wonderful storm going down the road. 50. bucks is much better than a couple hundred.

I agree that it is a waste of money. Take that money and put it in a savings account and after the factory warranty expires, when something breaks, you will have the cash to fix it. If it doesn't break, you have money in the bank.

IMO it is worth it if you ride alot. My bike has had shifter shaft seal replaced I believe 4 times and the inner primary seal 4 times once thay didn't replace a seal behind the shifter shaft had to go back again. all but the last time I pulled out a fifty dollar bill and said fix it.8 times since jan 05 at about $400 each thats $3200.00
Suppose you are on a long trip bike breaks down they tell you the repair bill is $1700 That could easily ruin the trip. That is what happened to my son in law over memorial day weekend.Lucky for him my daughter wanted a new bike so they bought a new ultra with extended warranty. good luck

Since it is transferrable, it helps the resale value and gives some piece of mind to the new buyer.

About the only time I ever got my $$ back on something extra I bought was with the bike I have now.
I got the coverage that makes your payments for up to 6 months if you get hurt and can't work.
I got hurt and couldn't work and they covered my payments for the 6 month's which came out to more than I paid for the coverage.
Now I need to have surgery on my knee so will probably use it again since the 6 months is "per occurrence".

Default Extended Warranty

Well I've owned Harleys all my life and in 2006 I bought an Ultra Classic to go and do some serious riding. Since that time I have put over 40,000 miles on it with no problems till last week, the radio just quit on me. When I bought the bike I paid cash and had the extended warranty added on as well, and this is the first one I ever bought. Well when the radio wiped out on me I geared up fopr an argument thinking the radio wasn't covered, and that radio isn't cheap as you well know. Anyway the service guy tells me they have had a lot of problems and since I have the extended warranty I'm covered and they installed a new radio no questions asked just a 50 dollar deductible. So IMO 1200 buck for the 7 year warranty is well worth it thanks again Harley for stepping up to the plate.

This is good one. They fix it eight times and if they would of fix it right the first time you would not of had to come back seven more times. ESP will not get your bike fix all the way just enought to get you back on the road. Put you money in the bank and better service workers.
