I am interested in getting a Fatboy and the msrp is $16,344, now I know there is a destination charge of $330 and I have to pay tax 7%. What else do they nick you for? Is it common to get it less then MSRP?

 

You can count on atleast $2,000 to buy stuff to make it yours (I got $10K into mine...) but I also got a very unique bike....lol

 

Fees for dealer prep.&nbsp\\; Usually about $375.&nbsp\\; Along with the tax is the fee for titleing and license.&nbsp\\; Check with your state DMV for these costs.
If the bike is a 2008 and you risk waiting long enough, you might get it under MSRP when the 2009's fill up the showroom floor.&nbsp\\; Until then almost everyone I know pays MSRP.
I bought a 2006 in September for $1,000 under MSRP when the 2007's were on the floor.&nbsp\\; I sweated out someone buying it before the dealer went down.&nbsp\\; There were only 6 2006's left in the state.
If I had it to do over again, I would have bought a used garage queen with 900 miles on it for 2 or 3 thousand less than a new bike.&nbsp\\; Look around.&nbsp\\; They're everywhere unless you just have to have a new '08.

 

Usually dealer prep or whatever the particular dealer calls it runs around 700-900.&nbsp\\; If a dealer tries to MSRP you&nbsp\\; go to another one.&nbsp\\; That's bs.&nbsp\\; My wife&nbsp\\;got her&nbsp\\;08 Deluxe last month for 1700 under MSRP w/o even trying.&nbsp\\;

 

About 17-18K out the door depending on state taxes and such.
After that, as much as you want to spend on her.

Most of us do pipes/hi flow/&amp\\; tuner. If this appeals to you, fiqure at least an additional $1000.

To add to this, keep an eye on Ebay and other sites...you can cut that amount in half.

 

New will cost to much , just buy my bike &nbsp\\;

 

Best bet is to go and ask the dealer.

 

depending on where you live plays a big part due to demand. Not as easy to get a deal in SoCal as it would be in the midwest.
