Best Motorcycle Ramp???
#51
Looking for some help here too. I only saw one post on lifted trucks so any other want to chime in? I'm heading towarda 6" lift on my 2006 F-150 and need a ramp as I prefer it to trailering (no place to really store a trailer). I've seen the Big Boys and the X-Tra Long Black Widows. But I only see the XLong BWs as being specifically for lifted trucks.. are there others?

I have the big boy ramps that I use to load bikes into the back of my Tundra. They work fine. I can sit on the bike while loading and unloading. I also use a sheet of plywood the length of my bed and tailgate to take stress of off the tailgate cables. Never had any problems and I sometimes travel this way on the German autobahn at above normal driving speeds.

I bought my folding ramp at Home Depot. It's 8" wide and 6.5' long. I own an '04 Dodge pickup and would never attempt to ride my bike in the back of it on flat ground. I have always found a ditch by the road or a small hill to back up to and get the truck bed as close to level with the ground as possible.... even a curb will bring your truck bed further to level than you think. I've seen too many people get to the top of their ramps or half way up and hit the brakes... no place to put your feet when you stop... and seen more than one person bend his frame because he rolled off the ramp.

Man, it sure was nice reading all these post, except this one. Thanks for the info everyone else. My kid likes to travel with me and the wifey but isn't quite old enough to ride on the back of our bikes!
