Is a 95 Fat Boy A Good HD to buy?
I was thinking about getting a 95 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, but i have been told by some of my HD riding friends that I should bee looking at 2000 and above models for a used HD, especially because I don't know how to work on them. What are your opinions on a Heritage Softail purchase year. I don't have to have the latest greatest. This will be a my first HD.

If you are not mechanically inclined maybe it would be best to get the newest model you can. BUT there certainly is nothing wrong with an Evo Fatty. I wouldn't mind having one.
Just keep in mind the older a bike is the more care it will likely need.

A 95 is an evolution motor, tried and still true..
A 2000 or newer is a twin cam, not a bad choice either, you just have 2 little cams with a little chain going around them as opposed to one big cam that is in the evo.
The TC is the new(er) generation of motor, and has it's pros and cons.
It is more computerized too than is the Evolution motor.
Do you currently ride?
A 95 Fatboy though would be a great choice, and you can do a lot with em', ofcourse depending on the shape of it, price you can get it for, etc.

I don't think the older Evo motor is much of an issue. As has been said it is tried and true. Just be careful getting a bike that might be old enough to need more care than you are willing to put into it.

A '95?
It's too 'new' fangled. But then, I'm still kick startin', mine.
Personally, have never been a fan of 'solid' wheels. Other than that, Fatboys are a good ride.
I laugh outloud when I read the posts about EVO's requiring 'wrenching'.
Check out this ad, read the WHOLE thing, tho. Then you, too, can laugh with me when you read these posts.

EVOs have turned into the smallblock Chevy's of the scooter world. CHEAP horsepower. Gotta LOVE what ya can do to them. And the 'aftermarket' is jus' drippin' with stuff like this:

Put one of the 120's or 127's in a 'bagga', one Fast Ast sofa. "Git on, sit down, shut up and HANG ON!!!!" Jus' my .02
