They are out there. I got mine from Wiss. Cycle Salvage in Nenaw Wiss. Got most of the replacement parts off of eBay. Keep shopping. Almost every state has them but they for some reason arent as popular or advertised as auto salvage yards.

 

Baltimore cycle salvage

 

Well, not exactly sure what year and model it came off of. Its a wide split tank that is for a carburated bike. My guess would be 90's. It has fill ports on both sides, and is not stretched. I picked it up wanting to do the exact same thing, then just ended up buying a new bike so I wont be doing that anytime soon. I will let it go for $50 cause thats what I paid for it. Pm me if you want it.
