I have a set of 88cc Edelbrock heads and want to use them on an Evo stroker. Edelbrock recommends JE/Sportsman pistons for their heads, they have piston domes specifically designed for them. Problem is, they dont make stroker pistons for their heads. They note you need to use modified stock or aftermarket pistons for this purpose. Anybody got any knowledge on this subject? What pistons will work and what mods necessary? Evo with 3 5/8 bore and 4 5/8 stroke. Can anyone give me some help with this one?

 

What components to use is a broad and comples subject that always leads to debate. Edelbrock makes a fine product and has been around for as long as I remember. You can have a lot of fun with an EVO build. Before you tear the whole thing down you may want to consider this. Have the original heads modified as to keep the stock look. Maybe have them decked, ported polished, open up theintake port. Now change out the cam (your choice) and do a bit of carb and exhaust work. You will be pleasently surprised at what you can get out of it then.
