I have an Adventure Power UBVT-1 battery in my 99 FXSTC, that is on its 5th year. They are available from Amazon for $70.00 with free shipping. These are sealed batteries with 310 cranking amps, and 18 amp hour rating. They are extra heavy built for Harley, against vibration and heat. Mine has never been on a tender.

Dammit, I wish you would have told me that a couple/three years ago. I bought mine from O'reilly's. I gotta go get in the truck now so I can buy a battery from a motorcycle shop.

Run a weak battery too long and you run the risk of frying the stator as it tries its best to charge the battery.
