Does anyone know what may be causing front end of my 06 softail deluxe to wobble between 35 and 40 mph? Smooth above and below this speed. Not noticeable with hands on handlebars. Just bought bike and was riding hands off to check how straight/smooth bike was. The wobble is pretty erratic. Appreciate any info anyone can offer. Thanks

 

There are many factors that contribute to front end wobble. Since this is a low speed wobble I'd tend to look at possible front end issues. Is the front end stock or has it been modified? Most low to moderate speed wobbles are caused by fork issues such as broken bolts, loose nuts, etc. You may also want to get the front end off the gound if you can and check the front tire and wheel for trueness. I don't believe this is a balance issue as it is only present at low speeds but it may be a contributing factor. Be extremely carefull with this, it is a dangerous condition and you should get it looked at right away if you can't identify the cause yourself.

 

How many miles on the front tire Look for cupping off the center of the tire

 

Mine has done the same thing since day 1,tire pressure,bolts,nuts everything is fine but yes I still have the wobble around 40mph with hands off bars while slowing down.
