Ok...here I go...gonna get flamed for this, but, here it is..I'm seriously thinking about riding with one of those reflective vests. Those neon bright traffic cop reflective vests. Live in Florida and have ridden for years, but I swear the last few, people down here just don't see M/C anymore. Happens all the time, either pulling out in front of you or turning left into my lane..happens much more frequently than it used to. So, what do you guys think about wearing those vests?? Know it ain't "Harleyesque" but neither is lying on the road in bloodied heap. Flame on!

Ride in whatever you want to ride in. I think it is a good idea, tho I don't ride with one. Besides who cares what the bozos around here think about what you wear? Been payin' attention to the standard Harley (expressin' my rugged individualism) uniform of the day??
I don't wear a vest, but guess they do help you to be seen. If you like it go for it. As for what folks think. Who cares!!! I wear a helmet, but I don't think we want to get that whole thing going tonight. Ride safe.
I wear the hi-vis orange Harley vest, required by the military, but to be honest, I'd wear it even if I didn't have to. Face it, if it saves you ass only once, even from a minor incident, isn't it worth it?

I work for a DOD Contractor on a military installation so every time I ride the bike to work I have to wear a reflective vest and comply all the other requirements. My rule is if it isn't raining when I leave in the morning I ride the scoot. That being said I have noticed people are more aware of me while wearing it. I have also been caught in the rain on the way home and had people tell me that if I didn't have the vest they would not have seen me at all! If I ride at night I definitly wear it but on weekends during the day I don't. Choice is yours but if traffic is bad it's probably a good idea to wear it.

I saw a guy wearing one at the experienced MSF course. He said he started wearing it after a car pulled in front of him and he hit it. I also read an article that says the brighter the colors you wear the more visible you are.

I live and ride mainly in rural areas, but only wear a safety vest when traveling in/through the metro areas. It has to help. Once had a guy follow me for about 10 miles on the parkway then rear ended me on the exit ramp when I slowed for traffic ahead of me. He said he didn't see me! (I wasn't wearing the vest)

i was coming home late one night in my cager and there was someone wearing one of these jackets with the reflectors on a scoot, and i was way tired and that jacket he had on made him much more visible to me all he had was a small tail light, but when my head lights hit that jacket i knew it was motor cycle rider and i was able to slow down and pass him more safely!!!
