Default 1982 shovelhead looking for some advice

Hi i recently was riding out of town to my local hooters for bike night, and it was a great event. However on the way back we were flying down the highway when my air cleaner cover blew off my bike with my air filter and screen. I was able to find my filter and screen however i was not able to find the chrome cover. so i was wondering if someone could point me to a website where i could buy a new one. I do not beleive that it was the stock cover it has three screws on the outside that screw down into the cover from the side and it was a round cover about 3 or 4 in and it had a hole design in it. So if anyone could point me to a website where i could replace it or buy one that would work that would great thanks

my bike is a 1982 fxwg

Is it the original *Ham Can* style?

If so, I'd call around at the indie dealers in the area, and see if they have one laying around. A lot of people switched to S&S carbs for the Shovels. You might get lucky.

Or, EBay.

Sounds like it might have been an old pan style cover. Might want to try Ebay.

I believe an 82 uses breakers instead of fuses.

It could be the drilled disk cover, round with about 7 holes in it with foam element . J&P has it on their web-site for $30 or so. As for the fuses look under your seat for the breakers, that's where they are on FXE's.
