PA New MC Inspection
I don't know what made me think of it but I just realized my new (Jan 09) bike is not inspected. I live in PA but bought the bike in NJ and have been riding around for six months without an inspection sticker. I think new cars need one. Do new bikes need an inspection sticker in PA for the first year? The NJ dealer never said anything and I didn't think to ask.

I live in pa and yes you need an inspection sticker doesnt matter if new or not. but i dont think a new jersey sticker would work in pa so thats probably why the dealer didnt put one on just go to local dealer and get one put on no big deal tell them you bought it out of state at another dealer and they didnt inspect it might get it done for free

Not sure about where you are. Laws differ from state to state.
Here in Missouri, a new car (or motorcycle) does not need an inspection sticker.
For example, I bought my bike brand new last Aug. When I registered it and bought the plates, I purchased them for 2 years.
So, no inspection sticker until my plates are due in 2010.

You do need the inspection, but the cops here are pretty lax at enforcement. I ran with an outdated sticker for 3 years and my bro-in-law still has a 2004 sticker on his Electra-Glide. Unless you get pulled over for another offense, the cops rarely check them.
BUT...it's cheap and easy to get the bike inspected, so get it done.

My Harley is current , but, the Honda has the 04 sticker still on it.
Hasn't been a problem yet.

Just an FYI. In PA it's much better to take the expired sticker off than leave an expired one on the bike.
Get caught without one it's a fix-it ticket, 10 days to correct.
Expired is a fine, Last I saw it was around $125.00

What's an inspection???
Guess I'm one of the 'lucky ones'....
Where I'm at we have no annual inspections, no emission checks, no equipment checks, no nothing....
Just pay your annual registration fee and you get your 'tag sticker' that is good for the next year.

Yea, rode around for months thinking the 7 on my sticker was a 1. Bought the bike in february. A couple of the state troopers here in Berwick ride Harley Davidson. See them in uniform riding their choppers to shift.
With the exception of a speed ticket on route 6 last spring, most police contact is to say hello and a look of let's change rides.
