Default Riding boots

Has anyone used the higher 10 eyelet DR. Martens boots to ride in?
The soles look like the traction would be good but the upper don't look to be very
heavy.

Meet my all time favorite warm weather riding boots. I got them from John Travolta in 1977.

Blackbiard, they look like they have leather soles. If they do, you live dangerously.

Mike,

Look into Criuserworks boots. They are comfortable, waterproof and have armor bulit in the ankle and toe areas in case you need it. They come in regular styles, they don't look like "boy racer" boots at all. Best of all they are great to walk in. http://www.cruiserworks.com/

Dad owns a shoe store, I was looking threw catalogues for biker boots and they (Dad and Sister) brought out the Dr. Martins. Not what I would have picked but when they say "we're trying to get rid of them" it means "take em, they are free". So I did, the soles are fine, not to thick or thin, comfortable, not real heavy in the protection area, but, way better than sneekers.
I'm riding with them and they are just fine.

I love my Doc's.....especially in warmer weather. Second pair for me. But for touring I wear a taller, gore-tex lined, boot that is waterproof. Bought 'em at a BMW dealership up in Colorado..........and these boots have been through snow! torrential rain, mud, etc. and still are comfortable to walk in. Wish I had invented Gore-tex.........wonderful stuff.

I have Cruiserworks. Most comfortable riding boots I have ever worn. Light, protective and waterproof.

Regards,

Bill

The leather soul version was great for dancing and I did a lot of that for sure. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Click Here and dance to the beat of the music.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm.
I've been kicked around since I was born.
And now it's all right, it's O.K.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.
Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin'
And ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.

You're very observant. In the photo they are leather souls and they are dangerous. I should say, were dangerous. I had them replaced with ribbed rubber about a month ago and they are good for riding now. [sm=smiley20.gif]
