Why a Harley?

Why a Harley?
I just have to ask this... I have loved Harley since I was a kid (long time ago). I see so many non Harley riders bash, compare and complain about Harley bikes and riders that I just gotta ask what your reasons are.
Compared to some others...
They're not the fastest.
They're not the most reliable.
They're not the nimblest.
They're not totaly "American Made".
They're definately not the cheapest...
So, why did you want a Harley?

RE: Why a Harley?
Oh c'mon guys... thats the ol' "fall back on" answer.
For me Harley stands for tradition and pride. When you say Harley, people listen...lol. It's also the bike that every other company compares themselves to. I know you guys can give better replies than "If you have to ask you'll never understand." I understand... I own one.

RE: Why a Harley?
It is hard to explain. Maybe it's partly the "mystique." I think, in my case and my bike, it's the low tech simplicity (kinda like me). And it's an easy machine to make fit my personality. I'm not too good at getting things into writing, but maybe you get the idea.

RE: Why a Harley?
One of the reasons I bought a Harley was because they're easier to work on, and the aftermarket parts/accessories available are endless. I knew the range of customization I can do is pretty much only limited by my imagination.
For a cruiser, the look of an air-cooled motor is the only way to go for me. I just couldn't stand the look of having a radiator hanging off of the front.
I like having the option of dropping in a larger motor or 6-speed transmission down the road.
That's what comes to mind off the top of my head...
