Default Looking for a 2008 Cop Bike - any hints?

As stated, I am looking for a white 2008 cop bike, preferably with pogo seat. I know it's a very specific target, but I have my reasons. I want to build up a touring bike and the 2008 suits my needs.

Anyone have experience buying police auction bikes here? Ideally t would be in decent shape. I will be doing a lot of work to it, but would like to start from a solid baseline. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I know there's usually one tucked to the side of the on-ramp on 94 in West Allis.
Don't think it's for sale though. There's a guy with a gun and a badge riding it.
Seriously, Woodstock H-D down by me was taking in used ones at one point.

From your pots here it seems you as a rule you.know what ya want.

I have an 08 Ultra and not sure if cop bikes are the same.
I'll mention that the 08 touring bikes are a bit one off for a few things.
The thing I really stumped my toe on is the rear wheel and drive hub, it's a one year thing.

Probably can be converted to a different set up. I just manged to find the correct parts for mine.

I will definitely do that Dale - thanks!

Yup - been combing the ads. So far only one in AZ that has 50K miles on it for a little more $$ than I want to spend.

I didn't know that about then hub. But I am curious as to why you would need to replace those parts?

What I want is the narrow rear tire with the big tank. I've never liked the way the wide tire bikes ride.

Glad to hear I'm not the only person who prefers the pre 2009 Touring frame. Every 09’ and higher I've ridden makes me feel like I'm wrestling a pig.

You might include 2007 since it got the 96" engine and 6 speed but still had the narrower rear tire and same frame as the 2008s.. My son bought my '07 Road King Classic and he's just installed a cop bike pogo seat on it. One difference between 2007 and 2008 is that the '07s had throttle cables while the '08s were 'fly by wire'. I can't confirm the throttle details of the two police bike model years, but this was the case for the civilian Road Kings.

As mentioned the '08 got the 6 gallon tank and throttle by wire. They also got Brembo brakes, the front stabilizer link moved to the top of the motor, axles changed from solid 1" to hollow 25 mm and the civilian seat mount changed. The '08 will have the 'cush drive" rear sprocket from the factory where the '07 will only have it as a dealer installed kit.

I had an 08 RKP, ex Florida unit and it definitely rode different than my 2013. I'll say different in that its not as planted as my 13 but was smoother than my 11, took bumps better. My 13 is the best of the 3 bikes though, smoother than the 08 and corners great (relatively speaking of course). Saddle bags are better on the cop bike and the solo seat sits you higher and I swear that seating position gave me better control but high enough that I was a big time bobblehead with the windshield on when I first rode the bike home.

A friend of mine has two 08 white police bikes for sale complete with lights and sirens. Both used as movie prop bikes, one was ridden by Bruce Willis and Ron Howard.
