Horseshoe Oil Tank on Shovelhead FLH
Hey guys, I need a little bit of help. I recently bought what I thought was a 1983 FXWG, wide glide for those who don't know the lettering, but found out it was actually an FLH that was stripped to look like a Wide Glide.
The tipoff should have been the battery box size but given that I have never been around shovels I did not realize it.
Anyway, I bought the wrap around or horseshoe style oil tank that J&P sells (http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/Produ...rch&results=10) but it only fits the fxe battery.
Does anyone know if they make one that will fit an FLH battery or if there is an easy way to switch to an fxe battery? The local bike shop told me I would need to completely rewire the bike to make it run on an FXE battery. Any help is greatly appreciated. I just have to get this huge battery box out of the way!
Thanks,
alex.

FLH battery is way big for any horseshoe tank. Just get an AGM FXE-sized battery, install it, and do whatever needs doing to get the battery leads connected to the correct terminals. That's it.
