I purchased a new chin spoiler off ebay. it was painted burgandy and i needed it painted cobalt blue. anyway i took it to a local bike painter and had it done. well its not even close to matching! does anyone know what you need to do to match the factory color? like maybe spray a silver base or something?????
I relize it won't ever be a exact match but its purple !

I would think your local Harley dealer would have some available or at least be able to order it for you.

 

getting the paint is not the problem. getting the correct process is. HD wanted $80 for a qt!!!

 

I beleive you can call Harley Corp and get the paint code if you give them your VIN....

This is one of those thing that you need to be a painter to answere. you can't just buy the paint and spray it on to match......there are other factors that make the color! like a base coat that is silver or white ect..

i have the correct paint.

 

You said you had it painted. Why can't your painter answer the question?
If you are not happy with his work, sounds like you have an issue with your painter.

 

Watching this thread for some useful information. I want to get my inner fairing painted, and would like to be able to make sure my painter is doing the job right. This is a good question.

 

your right i do have an issue with my painter...thats why im searching for a correct process. i don't want to hear "that as good as it gets"
