Default Detachable windshield docking hardware??

I have a 07 Deluxe and want to buy the docking hardware only? (A friend gave me his windshield when he sold his bike)Does anyone know where I can get the kit or a harley part number for my application? I want to order it online because the HD dealers here are owned by the same owner and there customer service sucks!

I just bought a windshield through DennisKirk.com and they had a lot of hardware, also you can try E-Bay, hope this helps.

That's the same info I found searching. It doesn't list my bike? 07 FLSTN. I checked through the 2009 HD catalog also and had the same problem.

The orignal windshield # is 57140-05. It's off a 08 Deluxe FLSTN.

I would love to run accross a spare shield like you did. I'd leave my shorty at home on the longer trips. I was so pissed at myself for leaving the shield on the last bike I traded in.

Anybody have a detachable shield that they ain't using?

(I hope this ain't considered a thread Hi-jack). If so, Sorry!

It's unbelievable how many people keep the windshield, but leave the docking hardware on them when they trade them in. The docking hardware cost $80.00!

Excellent point!

In my case, (I likely went overboard) but I even took all my accumilated chrome bolts off (replaced with the stock ones I still had) and yanked off every add-on I could think of. I was trading for the same model bike (newer). I left the windshield on until the last day, then like and idiot I forgot to yank it (for a spare). In my case I would have intentionally left the docking hardware since the new bike already had it. But I get your drift.

I love my cut down windshield, but the trip to Sturgis had me wishing I had a few more inches up top. Was no biggy, not worth the cost of a "new" spare,...... but to think I left a free one on the last bike haunts me. LOL

For what they offer on trade-ins,.... without hardly giving your bike a glance,....... no hard feelin's about stripping it first. They sure ain't paying you for extras.
