police trike old pan head
looking for info on what side of the generator is the field side and what side is the armiture side.
please reply. This is an old bike i think its 1950 to 1960. Flat head

Aramature is the rotating part. Field is the two coils attached to the generator frame.
And if this is a flathead, it's a 45 cu. in. engine, not a Panhead.

customer just told me its a 46 pan head. It looks like the wiring to the armiture is wrong. thanks for the help

Check with Waugh HD in Orange, VA, they are very friendly folks, & They have one on display in the showroom. Should be able to help you with all sorts of info on your bike.

Don't think they put the Panhead in the servicars (assuming it's a servicar). Had flatheads all the way up to 1973.

Not likely to be a '46 Pan. Didn`t start makin' em till '48...
