Thought I would share with you guys. My wife's bike is in the shop. Her '05 Dyna Low Rider is having new handlebars installed. This is HER bike. She had been drooling over it for two months. She finally got it.

After dinner I said: "Its's such a nice night, I guess I wil go for a ride".

Her response was to start coming over the table at me saying;" You SOB, you know my bike is in the shop!"

Pretty cool from a 40 something woman that just started riding a year ago, huh?

A year ago she said that she wanted to ride her own.

To the dealer we went.. I bought her a Buell Blast.

She took Rider's Edge, then said: "My Buell is nice, but I want Harley"

To the dealer we went.. I bought her a '03 Sportster Hugger.

She rode it about 8 months. This time she didn't ask, but after a long road trip, I could tell that the vibration was getting to her.

Each time we stopped at the local dealer, I would "lose" her, only to "find" her sitting on a '05 Dyna Low Rider. This went on for two months.

This time SHE bought the bike. Needless to say, she loves it.

I know that I am a lucky guy. She will go on a ride at the drop of a hat. She rides her own, and I better not even put a fingeprint on it!

 

Dog, if she rides, great, don't complain.

 

Sounds pretty darn cool. My boss is content to sit on the back and tell me to turn up the radio.

Don't complain. I just bought a sportster and my wife won't go near the bike. Says she will never ride on it. So I envy you man. Tha's great !!!

 

With us, it was ME who has been drooling for a Harley for years but when I got mine he wanted one also. I won't ride his and he won't ride mine. Just something very personal about one's Harley. Even in the title - when I got my paperwork they had put his name on everything (we live in a community property state) - I had an absolute knips fit - this was MY Harley not his. I made so much noise not only at the dealer level but also at their corporate level - what - a woman can't own one on her own and why did they assume just because there was one already in the family that it was his - just because he was a guy? They sheepishly changed all the paperwork but it took darn near two months!

But there are days when one of us wants to go for a ride and the other doesn't - it happens and the one wanting to - goes.

My husband & I have two kids at home (ages 7 & 9). I understand your wife's pain. I hate it when my husband takes off for a ride and I'm stuck at home watching the kids. It sucks to know he's out riding when I want to be but can't!

 

I think that's funny

 

My wife doesn't care when I ride and she knows that I will be back when I get here. She doesn't get mad at me, she just is surprised that I came back so soon. Figure that out.
