Overheating on 96" engines?

bwahahahaha amsoil is fine oil, but it is not the holy grail.... you will get just as good a result with almost any synthetic oil. but if you like it, use it.

I guarantee my 07 shuts off on the rear cyclinder since reflashed.

Run hotter than an 88 cu in, yes. Over heating problems, no. If there were over heating problems with the 96 cu in this forum would have let you know by now. Buy your 2010 and enjoy the ride.

I'm getting V/H's dresser duals tomorrow,,,,,that should help with the heat......and no more CAT!!

Ur listening to the wrong people, they don't over heat.. they do run little hotter than the 88's..... Stock new mine was around 235*
a stg1 brought it down to 225........cams and syn oil will help even more, now 210-215..............

HA HA, you guys crack me up. Thanks for the advice. And yes, I use Amsoil in all my bikes. Thanks for all you VETS out there who served our country. This is my forth trip over and let me tell ya, you're not missing much.

Buy it,ride it,then decide.Or stick with the older models and forget all the overheating bs and fly by wire throttles.Good luck.

rode through kansas/texas/louisiana to florida on my way back from sturgis this year. temps hit 105+. i was hot as hell, bike was around 230. so no overheating issues.
running redline synthetic. no oil cooler. stock pipes, intake, and factory computer settings.
