Is a fuel pack necessary for just a slip-on and a bigger air clearner?
I just purchased a 2010 Street Glide and the only changes I'd like to make is putting on a V&H Twin Slash 2 into 1 slip-on and a big air cleaner (probably a KN or Big Sucker so I could use my original cover). Is a fuel pack necessary? I have called three local HD dealers and all have told me that a fuel pack is not necessary, that a remapping download is all I need. All thoughts and advice are welcomed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Keep in mind that the bike already runs lean to begin with. Now you have just added more airflow. It really does need more fuel to compensate for that.
At minimum I'd throw on some XIED's. Not too costly either.

You can get away with just the download and flashing the ECM but it wont be optimal and if you ever wanted to do anything more to it what you paid for in the download goes out the window.

Oh my,...... not to step on any toes here, but your computer only makes very minimal corrections and not enough for A/C and pipes.

The dealer download is in my opinion a rip off for a few dollars more you can get a PCV or other brand fuel management and make changes yourself if you need to,your bike will sound and run alot better with it getting enough fuel

They plug in between the oxy sensors and the bike. Fools your bike into thinking it needs to add a little more fuel. Many have had good luck with them.
