Everyone has an opinion. Here's mine. I use Mobil one v-twin 20/50 synthetic in both my HD's. I use HD primary oil in my primary---it is the only oil I have found made specifically for the primary. Started using that when HD came out with it. There may be others but I am not wasting my time looking and trying. I use heavy weight Bel ray synthetic in my transmissions. I change my oil every 2500 miles---done that forever in my bikes and always will. Not changing my routine over anyone else's opinion. I have a 98 wideglide now and a 03 heritage softtail. 30,000 and 50,000 miles now.

Whatever you use, make sure that your tranny and primary lubes look and/or smell different. One or both of 'em are gonna start leaking sooner or later and it makes locating the source of the leak easier.

Not everyone helps the new guys.. but most answers are in fun and I like doing that too, once in a while, specially after a couple.....

I have a '97 WG and use Harley's Primary oil and use Red Line 75w/90 for the tranny. I have about 50K miles on it, with about 40K over the last 4 years.
