If you get a good tire like a Dunlop with a 4 ply side wall, they can be a bit of a cow because they are soooo stiff, but you dont want a cheap flimsy side wall tire on your bike. For $150, just let them do it!

IMFUO, you got a good deal.
IF I had the $$, I'd prob'ly pay that, to have it done.
But, IF dog's (NO reference to above said poster from the GREAT state of Maine ) had square azzez, they'd chit bricks, and Anchor Block would be outta business. They just built a new complex and bought some new trucks.
Rim Savers, tar irons, and dish soap. AWAY we go.
In 40 some odd years, I musta saved at least $4 or $5.
IOW, I sometimes ? the SANITY of it. Peshally when I git done, and I am MISSING one friggin' Rim Saver.

Well, RJM dug up this 4 year old thread so I thought I'd add my bit. I've had very good luck buying my tires from Dennis Kirk over the years; for both the Harley and my '75 Suzuki.
I have a lift to raise the bike, remove the wheel. I bought a tire bead breaker from Northern Hyd. And you need some heavy duty tire irons, cheap ones will just bend. Use soapy water to slip the beads on and off. I've saved lots of cash over the years doing my own work. I realize it's not for everyone though.
