Question blue dot tail lights.. what is the blue dot for?

ok lookin at tail lights for the scooter and start lookin at old ford 1930's era lights, yes i know people would put them on there scooters years ago becouse they were "cool" and i do agree. my question is, why was the blue dot on the light in the first place?

Because it can be seen farther than the red light.

I don't know if I agree with R-Jay or not. They make your brake like look purplish. And, they're illegal just about everywhere. My dad got stopped in the early 50's by the California Highway Patrol. They made him remove them right there on the side of the road.

In today's world, I wouldn't chance it. It would be PC to stop you and give the entire bike a once over, and you a handful of tickets.

Danny is right. It only changes the color of the brake light (to purple)when you hit the brakes. It is for looks only and you know you can see red a-lot better than purple.
