Got a Grantour bar for Chrismas. My Road glide does not have a sissy bar nor do I want one. Without a bar the instructions show using a set of heavy cardboard plates slide between the seat and the fender. These plates are hard but I guess they will form to the fender under weight. But I can't help believe these things will damage the fender. Anyone have any experience with this type of installation?
