No one should leave home on a motorcycle without a wide selection of wire/cable ties or zip ties as I call them stashed somewhere on your motorcycle. They are invaluable source for a quick fix to get you by till you can get somewhere and fix the problem properly.
Can't argue with that logic. I carry a couple tie straps plus an extra shifter. I am meaning to pick up an extra clutch lever too.
Obviously some issue brought you to this conclusion. What is your fix it story?
Tour pack lid cable broke resulting in my lid falling all the way open and springing the hinges. Straighten the hinges but snapped of one of the screws on the set pin and it wouldn't stay in the hinge. Temporary fix was a zip tie through the hinge till I get what I need from the dealer.
I'm a daily rider since I only have one vehicle that my wife drives which means this could have been a show stopper. I didn't trust a locked latch and one hinge. If you've even been on an motorcycle with a trunk and had the lid open while riding you'll know what I mean.

HHMM// I carry plenty of tie wraps, and and extra shifter too..LOL.. I wonder where I can find a mini roll of duct tape that won't take up as much room as a regular roll..???

True Value sells 1/2 rolls. I mash it down into an oval.
