1926 HD Peashooter
Hello Everyone,
I posted a message in the new members section and was advised to post this here. I am Curator of Collections for the Oklahoma Museum of History. Two days ago we were given a 1926 HD Peashooter by a gentleman here in Oklahoma City. He told us that this one was one of only 18 ever made, and that they were experimental bikes, most of which went down on a ship while being sent to Europe for racing. The gentleman also told us that his father had worked for HD from 1917 til the early 20s before he started racing HDs. In 1925, on a trip to Australia, he stopped in Oklahoma, met a girl, and got married and remained here. I am trying to find any information about the motorcycle, such as where do I find a serial number, is this what I was told, etc. Any information would be very m uch appreciated.
Thanks!

Do a google search for 1926 Peashooter and you'll get some good information. I'm no expert on the subject, but judging by the number of them on the internet, I'd bet many more than 18 were made.

Have you tried to contact H-D directly ? They may have some sort of department that deals with this sort of thing, many large companies do. It would be worth a phone call or two anyway.
