Default VROD Motor in a Glide

I saw someone has a kit to turn a VROD into a bagger, why not a kit to drop a VROD motor in a Glide? If you did this to an Ultra the radiator wouldn't hardly show.

That would have to be a heck of a kit!

Shucks...I was expecting to see that someone had actually done it....

The cost of doing it seems to outweigh the reasons for it. However, if the rumors are true about H-D eventually putting water-cooled engines in all the bikes, it will be a reality soon enough.

yeah the kit includes everything except tires and wheels.. you jack up your old bike, pull the wheels and tires off, install them on the new 'kit', and you're done.

Default Wait for it

The 2010 baggers with the Cat in the headpipe are so hot Harley is going to have to come up with some way of cooling them down.

Wait for a 2011 or 2012 model Electra, will probably have a VROD Water Cooled in them.

Mainly because it would SUCK as a touring motor. Revs to high and not enough grunt. Don't look for Harley to abandon air cooled anytime soon. The patents on the twinky will expire 2014. Look for some powerplant changes at that time but it wont be H2O cooling. I expect them to use injected oil cooling in the heads similar to BMW's boxer motor. That motor puts out 110-130+ HP with no heat problems and is running 12:1 compression. Oh, its only 1130 cc and meets more stringent Euro emission standards.

Harley may release a VROD bagger but it will not replace any of the current air cooled offerings.

There are tons of conversations on this forum that speculate about eventual water cooling. Yours is the first I've noticed that's mentioned oil cooling like BMW does. Sounds like a pretty good idea to me if they do it.

We'll see......
