Advice - Ape Hangers
Hi All,
Just looking for some advice about ape hanger bars, I've never had the opportunity to ride a bike with Ape Hangers and they look like they are comfortable.
Can anyone let me know what to expect in the change from normal bars to mini apes or ape hangers.
What are they like driving around town or tight turns?
I'm looking at buying either a Wide Glide or a Street Bob any info would be appreciated.

everyone is defferent......what is comfortable for one may not be for another. you will have to find a bike with them and hope you can try them out and see for yourself..

I love the way apehangers feel, they may feel awkward at first but it'll only take a little ride for you to get use to them. I had a shop install mine because I did not want to hassle with the cables, anyway, it was well worth the money, I say go for it.

Depends on the model, so try to find a recent year FXDL that has some and see if you want higher or lower than what it has. My personal opinion with apes is, if you are thinking about 14's......go with 16's, etc.

my wideglide came with mini 10 in, i just put on 12 which are really 14 with the riser, and they have 12 in pullback compared to 6 with the stock, my hands are shoulder height and i can sit straight up, perfect for me i sat on some used bikes at harley shops and diden`t like my hands over shoulders, so take your time its not cheap esp if your going internal wireing which you should do at that point, having wires hanging from apes looks quetto
