Evo smart start in a shovel frame?

"Has any one put a evolution motor in a late shovel head frame?"
Yeah, the Harley factory in 1985. 1985 and a few 1986 evo FX's were installed in a modified shovelhead frame with a little extra clearance in the seat post area for the rear rocker box. Otherwise it was a standard shovel 4-speed frame. You have to flatten out the front upper seat post area and cut some out of the area above where the rear rocker box goes, then cut some plates and weld them back in. I've seen it done, not much problem.
