Simple as that...I ain't explaining I am so pissed at this dealer...more the damn service manger. These guys try to diagnose problems over the phone...you have to talk them into scheduling an apppoinment. I pull in 1st thing this morning the service writer walks out and says were to busy to see you...WTF? Why make an appointment? Why not call me the day before and say were over booked...say it happens??? Try twice...this guy trying to apologize over my thunderheaders was funny...I hate to say it but it's true...once they got you money thay can care less

I was there with a friend trying to buy a Glide from them, after we gave them a deposit the sales manager called my friends and said the bike will cost them 2k more since we lived in a different county. He also told them they MUST buy the prepaid service package even though we live 100 miles away. They told him to place the bike where the sun don't shine.
What other country is 100 miles away from Marina Del Rey?
I certainly can't debate the title of this thread. Between Sales, Parts and Service, I've yet to have a pleasant/satisfactory experience there. Sucks too because it's 5 minutes from my house. But, I've posted about this in the Dealer Experiences forum.
When I was buying mine, they had the color I wanted, but with an additional 5k of chrome on it. I told them I wanted something closer to stock and asked them to order one. The salesman Al Steele called me the next day and said it would be no problem to order me one, but the owner wanted to talk to me first to see what they could do to have me walk out the door with this one. The wife and I drove down there after work, and over the course of two hours of waiting, he told us if we purchased about 2k in accesories, he would knock $250.00 off the sale price, and give us 10% off merchandise we ordered that day. I told him no, please order the bike I asked for. They made us give them a $1k deposit and said he would order it the next day. The next morning, I called him to see if he had ordered one, he said there was not another one in So. Cal to be had. I made one call to LA Harley in Southgate, and lo and behold, they had the exact color with a minimum of extra chrome. I call Bartel's back and told them to rip up my check, and was informed they had already deposited it, and it would be a minimum of 30 days to refund my money, so I had to put a stop payment on the check.
Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever even think of doing business with them again. I wouldn't even buy a T-shirt there.
This is the closest dealer to where I live as well. I usually have to stand around for anate that hour to get help at parts, and calling is not possilbe because they never answer the phone. I have been there for a small part and left because it takes so long. As far as buying a new bike is concerned, I took one look at the prices and decided to buy used. Saved a bundle and the bike was bought and serviced there. I haven't taken it there for service at all and could only imagine what that would be like. Bartels blows. Never nice or courteous, always an attitude, and always overpriced. They say on a radio spot they have that they cater to movie and sports stars. If that is the case let them deal with them only. Some of us actually work for our freakin money. Pardon the rage, but I just hate that the closest dealer sux.

That sucks. At my dealer you don't need an appointment at all on tuesdays through fridays. Just bring it in and they will work up to 3 hours on it.
I suggest Ventura Harley. The only problem I have had with them was no clean up after the 1000 mile (they left an fingerprint and oil mess). Easy to make appointments. I wait for my 1000 mile on a Saturday no problems, and it was done before they said it would be.
